SOMATOM Confidence – Excellence in computed tomography for modern healthcare
The SOMATOM Confidence is a computed tomography (CT) system developed by Siemens Healthineers, designed to meet the growing needs of medical facilities for diagnostic accuracy, operational reliability and patient comfort. This scanner combines state-of-the-art technology with an ergonomic design, enabling seamless integration into clinical workflows.
Featuring a 2,200 kg water-cooled gantry, the SOMATOM Confidence offers efficient heat dissipation and optimal mechanical stability. It is equipped with an IRSmx5c image reconstruction system capable of processing up to 64 slices, ensuring exceptional image quality. The PHS 1B patient table system allows a scan range of 1600 mm, ensuring complete anatomical coverage.
The scanner operates in an ambient temperature range of 18 to 28 °C, with relative humidity of 20 to 75%. It can be cooled by air or water, depending on site requirements, with specific water flow and pressure requirements. These features ensure consistent performance, even in complex hospital environments.
The SOMATOM Confidence requires a three-phase power supply (TN-S 3/N/PE AC 50/60 Hz) with a connection power of 86.5 kVA. It is compatible with 100/1000 Mbit/s Ethernet networks and uses static IP addresses for reliable network integration. The system also supports Smart Remote Services (SRS) for remote diagnostics and maintenance.
The system is designed to withstand building vibrations, with strict thresholds to guarantee image quality. It can be transported using special castors, with precautions for narrow passages. Components such as the PDC and PC towers are delivered on shock-absorbing pallets, ensuring maximum safety during transport.
The SOMATOM Confidence complies with international standards such as DIN EN ISO 13854 for safety distances and EN ISO 9241-5 for workstations with display screens. It also complies with local radiation protection regulations, with customised plans available on request.
