Description

SOPRO 218 – A powerful and intuitive Xenon light source for medical endoscopy

The SOPRO 218 light source from Satelec Acteon is the benchmark solution for endoscopic procedures requiring powerful, constant, high-quality lighting. Designed to meet the multidisciplinary requirements of modern surgical environments, this light source combines cutting-edge optical performance with ease of use.

At the heart of this device is a Xenon lamp with a colour temperature of 5800 to 6200°K, which is very close to natural daylight, enabling optimal visualisation of anatomical structures. This constant colour temperature is ensured by a mechanical iris that modulates the light without altering its quality, unlike electronic systems that modify the lamp voltage.

The SOPRO 218 offers three power settings depending on the model: 100 W, 180 W and 300 W, adapting to different clinical needs. The lamp has an average lifespan of 500 hours, and a built-in hour meter allows you to accurately track its usage time, with the option to reset it after each replacement.

The device is equipped with an LCD display showing the light intensity (adjustable from 0 to 10) and the lamp status in real time. It also has an automatic standby mode that immediately reduces the brightness to 10%, thus avoiding any risk of glare or accidental burns when connecting or disconnecting the optical cable.

In terms of safety, the SOPRO 218 complies with all applicable European standards (Directive 93/42/EEC, IEC 60601-1), with a robust design and protection against overheating thanks to effective ventilation. A delay system prevents immediate restarting during lamp cooling, ensuring lamp longevity and user safety.

Easy to integrate into any operating environment, this compact (dimensions: 311 x 300 x 125 mm) and lightweight (5 kg) source can be placed on a trolley or table, with 15 cm of free space around it to ensure good ventilation. The front panel allows intuitive connection with a standard Storz adapter (others available on request) and backlit control buttons ensure ergonomic handling.

Its modular design makes it easy to install, maintain and replace the lamp. However, the lamp must be replaced by qualified personnel.

The SOPRO 218 is an ideal solution for healthcare professionals looking for a reliable, powerful, safe and ergonomic light source for their endoscopic procedures. It perfectly embodies Satelec Acteon's philosophy: combining cutting-edge technology and ease of use to improve patient care.
