Sorvall RC-4 – The high-capacity refrigerated centrifuge for demanding laboratories

The control system is based on microprocessor-driven Easycontrol II technology, offering programme memory, continuous or timed operation, and detailed error diagnostics.
The RC-4 allows precise separation of biological components, particularly in the preparation of blood bags or the analysis of samples in test plates. Thanks to its rotors compatible with tubes of different sizes and its automatic rotor recognition system, the user can quickly configure the device while avoiding unauthorised settings that exceed the permissible limits.
It has nine acceleration and braking profiles to adapt to specific protocol requirements. The temperature can be set between -9 °C and +40 °C, ensuring thermal stability of the sample throughout the centrifugation process. The SMARTspin™ imbalance detection system ensures maximum safety by automatically stopping the cycle in the event of imbalance, while the motorised lid lock prevents opening during operation.
The rotor is easy to install and remove thanks to a secure mounting system, and a mechanical emergency opening mechanism is integrated in case of power failure. For critical applications such as handling infectious or toxic substances, aerosol-tight rotors are available.
With its ability to adapt to different types of containers (blood bags, conical tubes, microplates), a wide range of accessories and simplified maintenance, the Sorvall RC-4 combines power, flexibility and safety.
