Sorvall ST 8 centrifuge: a compact, efficient and versatile solution
The Sorvall ST 8 is a benchtop centrifuge designed specifically to meet the multiple needs of medical and scientific laboratories. Available in a ventilated version, it stands out for its ability to offer high performance while optimising workspace. It features a brushless direct drive motor and a microprocessor control interface, ensuring precise parameter control and a long service life.
This model accepts a wide range of fixed and swing-bucket rotors, with capacities up to 4 x 145 mL in balanced buckets (TX-150) or 6 x 50 mL in fixed configuration (HIGHConic III rotor). This makes it possible to process conical tubes, microtubes, microplates and blood samples. The Sorvall ST 8 can reach speeds of up to 16,000 rpm and a maximum relative centrifugal force (RCF) of 24,328 x g with the appropriate rotors.
The Auto-Lockâ„¢ system allows rotors to be changed without tools in just a few seconds, facilitating compartment maintenance and transitions between protocols. The ClickSealâ„¢ lids, certified for biocontainment, offer secure one-handed closure, compatible with gloves. The Sorvall ST 8 also meets international safety standards (UL, CE, IVD), ensuring compliant use in all regulated environments.
The user interface is simple and clear, with a remote-readable backlit display and the ability to store up to 99 programmes. Options such as automatic lid opening, an adjustable audible signal and a flashing display at the end of the cycle enhance user comfort. It operates at a noise level below 58 dBA, keeping the working environment quiet.
Its robust construction in brushed stainless steel for the centrifuge chamber, combined with its chemical resistance, ensures easy cleaning and durability over time. The Sorvall ST 8 is therefore a reliable, high-performance and compact centrifuge that can evolve with the needs of today's laboratories.
