Sorvall ST 8 centrifuge: a compact, efficient and versatile solution
The Sorvall ST 8 is a benchtop centrifuge designed specifically to meet the multiple needs of medical and scientific laboratories. This model accepts a wide range of fixed and swing-bucket rotors, with capacities up to 4 x 145 mL in balanced buckets (TX-150) or 6 x 50 mL in fixed configuration (HIGHConic III rotor). This makes it possible to process conical tubes, microtubes, microplates and blood samples. The Sorvall ST 8 can reach speeds of up to 16,000 rpm and a maximum relative centrifugal force (RCF) of 24,328 x g with the appropriate rotors.
The Auto-Lockâ„¢ system allows rotors to be changed without tools in just a few seconds, facilitating compartment maintenance and transitions between protocols. The ClickSealâ„¢ lids, certified for biocontainment, offer secure one-handed closure, compatible with gloves. The Sorvall ST 8 also meets international safety standards (UL, CE, IVD), ensuring compliant use in all regulated environments.
The user interface is simple and clear, with a remote-readable backlit display and the ability to store up to 99 programmes. Options such as automatic lid opening, an adjustable audible signal and a flashing display at the end of the cycle enhance user comfort. It operates at a noise level below 58 dBA, keeping the working environment quiet.
