The EM-4000 Specular Microscope - examining the corneal endothelium.
Featuring automatic alignment and automatic measurement, the device performs these crucial steps fully automatically, guaranteeing user-friendly operation and precise results. For those who prefer a manual check, the examination can also be carried out in manual mode.
With an impressive measurement area, the system evaluates up to 13 positions, including the center and 12 peripheral points. Cell density is analyzed with up to 300 cells counted, ensuring an accurate representation of the patient's cornea. What's more, automatic pachymetry is integrated, measuring corneal thickness non-invasively at every central examination.
Complete, fully-automated corneal endothelial cell analysis is performed rapidly, taking just 4 seconds for both eyes. The software evaluates crucial parameters such as polymegalithism and pleomorphism, enabling early detection of endothelial irregularities or degeneration. For difficult cases, special functions such as the classic L count, the Core method, and the dark zone analysis tool are available.
The integrated database function allows two selected measurements to be displayed simultaneously, facilitating pre- and post-surgery comparison for the same patient. Up to 16,000 patient records can be stored on the SD card, offering complete traceability and longitudinal analysis.
The unit is equipped with an integrated printer, providing detailed reports including endothelial images and analysis results. The large color touchscreen serves as an operating monitor and displays all measured values, enabling intuitive interaction and control via the touchscreen.
Detailed quality is ensured by non-contact examination, automatic alignment and measurement, and automated endothelial layer analysis. Reproducibility of the measured area is guaranteed thanks to automatic alignment technology. What's more, non-contact pachymetry is automatically measured at each central examination, adding a valuable layer of information.
