SSM3 3D Shaker – Compact versatility for delicate biological applications
The Stuart SSM3 shaker is a benchtop instrument designed for the specific needs of laboratories where precision, regular shaking and protection of sample integrity are essential. Thanks to its controlled and smooth three-dimensional movement, it ensures homogeneous, gentle and quiet agitation, making it the preferred choice for protocols requiring low foaming, such as nucleic acid extractions, gel staining and destaining procedures, or flat-plate cell culture.
The SSM3 features a robust construction, compact design and intuitive user interface. Equipped with a simple digital control panel, the device allows precise adjustment of the rotation speed between 5 and 70 rpm, depending on the nature of the samples to be shaken. Its 235 x 235 mm tray easily accommodates various containers such as Petri dishes, culture flasks or rack tubes.
Another notable feature of the SSM3 is the ability to adjust the angle of the tray from 3° to 12° without the use of tools. This allows the efficiency of the shaking to be optimised according to the requirements of the protocol. Whether for slow shaking for gentle decanting or faster shaking for effective homogenisation, the user has complete control thanks to the programmable timer, which can be set from 1 second to 90 minutes or up to 9 hours.
The device is designed to operate safely and reliably in a standard laboratory environment, with a power supply of 230 V/50 Hz and a power consumption of 50 W.
