Steriplan Series Soda-Lime Glass Petri Dish

The Steriplan Petri dish made of soda-lime glass by DWK Life Sciences is a transparent circular container designed for the culture of microorganisms in the laboratory. Made from high-quality glass, it offers excellent transparency, good thermal resistance and is perfectly suited for autoclaving at 121°C. Reusable, it is an economical and sustainable alternative to plastic models. Available in several sizes (from 40 mm to 200 mm in diameter), it meets the needs of laboratories in microbiology, biological research, quality control and education.

Description

Steriplan Petri dish – The ideal soda-lime glass solution for your microbiological cultures

The Steriplan® Petri dish manufactured by DWK Life Sciences is an essential basic tool in all microbiology, cell biology, pharmaceutical research, food processing and quality control laboratories. Made of soda-lime glass, it offers a reusable, stable and reliable solution for the culture of microorganisms and the observation of biological phenomena in agar or liquid media.

Unlike single-use plastic dishes, the Steriplan® model is autoclavable (up to 121°C), allowing for effective disinfection and reuse without loss of transparency or flatness. It is particularly suitable for laboratories seeking to reduce their consumption of consumables and optimise their budget while maintaining optimal working conditions.

The soda-lime glass used in the design of Steriplan® boxes is characterised by excellent optical transparency, allowing clear observation of microbial colonies under natural light or under a microscope. This material is resistant to moderate temperature variations and does not deform under the effect of autoclaving or repeated use, provided that sudden thermal shocks are avoided.

Each box consists of a base and a fitted lid, ensuring adequate protection against contamination while allowing good ventilation, which is necessary for certain bacterial or fungal cultures. The smooth, non-porous design of the glass makes it easy to clean, wipe and process between uses.

The Steriplan® series offers a wide range of sizes, from 40 mm to 200 mm in diameter, and heights ranging from 10 mm to 45 mm, to suit all experimental configurations: small cultures in educational settings, preliminary tests in R&D laboratories or large-scale microbiological analyses in quality control departments. This diversity also allows for stacking and optimised organisation in incubators.

Choosing DWK Life Sciences as your manufacturer guarantees consistent quality, backed by decades of expertise in scientific glassware. Compliance with international standards, careful manufacturing and rigorous quality control make Steriplan® the Petri dish of choice for demanding professionals.
