STRam portable Raman analysis system

The STRam from B&W Tek is a portable Raman analysis system designed for rapid identification of materials through opaque barriers, without opening packaging or altering the integrity of samples. Equipped with a high-efficiency spectrometer, a high-sensitivity detector and a specialised probe, it provides reliable analysis even through plastic or paper containers. Its simple interface via an integrated tablet with 21 CFR Part 11-compliant software, as well as its battery-powered operation, make it an ideal tool for applications in pharmaceuticals, forensics, biosciences and many other fields.

Description

Portable Raman analysis with the STRam from B&W Tek

The STRam from B&W Tek is a Raman analysis solution designed to meet the need for rapid material identification, even when enclosed in opaque packaging. Thanks to the integration of a high-performance spectrometer, a low-noise detector, an optimised sampling probe and specialised identification algorithms, the STRam offers the possibility of obtaining reliable results without having to open or damage the original packaging. This system combines portability, accuracy and ease of use for a wide range of applications, including the identification of pharmaceutical raw materials, forensic analysis, logistics inspection and the study of archaeological materials.

Thanks to patented STRaman® technology, STRam is able to capture Raman signals under diffuse layers, allowing samples contained in plastic bottles, paper bags or other containers that are traditionally problematic for conventional Raman techniques to be analysed. This capability significantly reduces the need for direct intervention on samples, thus limiting the risk of contamination or alteration.

The STRam has a built-in tablet running BWID®-Pharma software that complies with 21 CFR Part 11 standards, ensuring secure access, secure data storage and complete traceability of activities. This software, combined with STID algorithms, optimises the rapid identification of materials through different types of barriers. For laboratory environments, the device can also be connected to an external computer and used with BWSpec® software , offering complete acquisition control and various analysis tools.

The STRam is designed for low power density, which is essential for the analysis of sensitive materials, while allowing measurements on large sample areas, promoting reproducibility on heterogeneous samples. Its light weight and battery power option make it easy to transport and use in the field, offering laboratory-quality performance in a portable format.

Designed to meet the requirements of many sectors such as life sciences, customs, geology and materials science research, the STRam is a versatile and reliable device for all analyses requiring accurate and non-invasive material identification.
