OF-B120 – Aspiration Valve for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy
The Pentax OF-B120 suction control valve meets the clinical requirements of endoscopic procedures in gastroenterology. It is specially designed to ensure the efficient evacuation of fluids and air through the channels of endoscopes in the V/W series, as well as models 30(K), 40(K) and 90(i). Its architecture is adapted to the constraints of demanding medical environments, where safety, reliability and ease of sterilisation are paramount.
The OF-B120 model is manufactured to offer perfect compatibility with the endoscopes concerned, ensuring a precise fit and smooth handling. Maintenance of this valve is based on a rigorous protocol: the O-rings must be in good condition, correctly positioned and lubricated with a small amount of OF-Z11 silicone oil. This lubrication must be carried out several times a week or according to the frequency of use in order to maintain the flexibility of the components and prevent any failure.
After each use, the OF-B120 valve must undergo a high-level disinfection or sterilisation cycle in accordance with current protocols. It is designed to be autoclavable, which facilitates its integration into hospital reprocessing routines. A preliminary sterilisation procedure is mandatory before first use. Any damage to an O-ring must be replaced immediately to avoid the risk of leakage, loss of insufflated air or cross-contamination.
The mechanical condition of the valve must be checked systematically before each reuse. A valve that does not function properly, exhibits abnormal resistance or appears sticky must not be used under any circumstances. Attention to these details ensures patient safety and the compliance of medical procedures performed using Pentax devices.
This device integrates seamlessly into modern hospital reprocessing protocols and helps maintain a rigorous chain of sterility during endoscopic examinations.
