Dräger Polaris® 600 Surgical Light: Cutting-Edge Illumination for Precision Procedures
The Dräger Polaris® 600 surgical lamp represents a major advancement in medical lighting, offering innovative features designed to meet the highest requirements of healthcare professionals. This lamp embodies excellence in surgical lighting, combining outstanding performance, ease of use, and remarkable versatility.
The distinctive feature of the Polaris® 600 lies in its sterile handle equipped with Sterile Touch Control (STC). This revolutionary technology allows the surgeon to control the operating light independently, without relying on non-sterile staff. The STC, located on the upper part of the handle, provides intuitive access to adjusting the light field diameter with a simple double press, while sliding allows for adjusting light intensity, even with surgical gloves. The polygonal shape of the handle ensures perfect force transfer and easy orientation, and its monobloc design in resistant plastic makes it easily sterilizable.
Another significant advantage of the Polaris® 600 is its simplified use for non-sterile staff. The intuitive controls of the dome's touch technology allow non-sterile staff to manipulate the lamp without interfering with the positioning of the lighting. A wall panel also allows an assistant to control the lamp without touching it. Color-coded markers above the dome and on the wall panel facilitate the identification of controls, and in synchronous mode, settings are reflected on all connected lamps in the operating room, ensuring effective coordination.
The exceptional lighting quality of the Polaris® 600 is a key element of its design. The adjustable color temperature offers light suitable for each surgical field, with four modes from warm white to cool white (3,800, 4,400, 5,000, and 5,600 kelvins). These options allow customization of the lighting based on tissue structure, personal perception, or surgical discipline. Additionally, the light field can be adjusted gradually, ensuring quick focus and optimal illumination without creating distracting shadows, regardless of the surgical team's positioning.
The versatility of the Polaris® 600 is enhanced by the option to add a high-quality HD camera at any time. The camera is integrated into the lamp's dome, eliminating the need to reposition the sterile handle. The camera automatically adapts to ambient light conditions, and the 120x zoom generates exceptionally sharp images. An encrypted video signal is transmitted wirelessly, allowing real-time monitoring of the procedure in the operating room. Video control can be done remotely via a remote control or wall panel.
Upgrading the Polaris® 600 is simplified, integrating cutting-edge technologies and meeting the requirements of previous systems. Adding a Polaris® 600 lamp to an existing Dräger installation is a seamless process. Similarly, installing the MedView camera requires no on-site wiring, facilitating upgrades performed by trained technicians. The clear and functional design of the Polaris® 600 meets the strictest hygiene standards, with smooth surfaces resistant to disinfectants for easy and quick cleaning.
The Polaris® 600 offers centralized control via an interface integrated into the operating room, compatible with partner systems. This feature allows Dräger lighting and video systems to be controlled by partner systems, facilitating the recording, editing, and transfer of video data. Integrated connectivity simplifies knowledge sharing for training purposes, allowing healthcare professionals to connect with experts worldwide.
As a mobile lamp, the Polaris® 600 can be deployed as standalone supplementary lighting in the operating room, especially during cardiovascular interventions requiring simultaneous operations at multiple sites. This high-end mobile lamp also proves useful in emergencies or in the care room. With a maximum luminous intensity of 160,000 lux and a smoothly operating double swivel joint, precise positioning never compromises functionality. The transport height of the mobile Polaris® 600 lamp is only 1,850 mm, facilitating movement in various medical environments.
In case of a power outage, the lamp continues to operate thanks to a built-in battery, providing three hours of autonomy. LED status indicators on the cart display the power level and battery charge level, ensuring reliable use in all circumstances.
