The VISU 200 surgical microscope is seamlessly connected to the assistant's microscope, ensuring a cohesive and integrated surgical setup. Remarkably, the light loss for the surgeon is merely 20%, a negligible amount that remains imperceptible subjectively. This ensures that the surgeon can operate with optimal visibility and precision.
The assistant's microscope is an indispensable component of the VISU 200, intricately linked with the main microscope. Providing the assistant with an identical view to that of the main surgeon, the system ensures consistent and exceptional image quality for both individuals. The assistant's microscope offers versatility with two working positions on the right and left of the main surgeon, positioned at a 90° angle. Notably, there is no clicks-stop mechanism, allowing the assistant the flexibility to adjust the microscope within this range as needed.
To maintain stability during the main microscope's tilt, a crucial requirement is the pre-surgery adjustment and secure locking of the assistant's microscope position using screw. This precaution prevents any unintended movement of the assistant's microscope.
Equipped with a focusing system and a 5-step magnification changer, the assistant has independent control over their microscope image. The binocular tube of the assistant's microscope allows a ± 12° rotation about the optical axis and a 15° tilt, ensuring optimal ergonomic positioning. If required, an optical wedge (option) can be inserted to facilitate horizontal viewing, especially if the default angle is deemed too steep by the assistant.
The standard configuration includes eyepieces with a 10x magnification factor, offering a low initial magnification for a broader field of view and enhanced surgical field overview. Additionally, the assistant benefits from observing the red reflex in both eyepieces, contributing to a comprehensive and accurate visualization during surgical procedures.
After the necessary adjustments are made, the assistant's microscope can be securely locked in place using the designated locking screw. This final step ensures the stability and reliability of the assistant's microscope position throughout the surgical intervention.
