SECULIFE ST – A Complete Solution for Verifying Electrical Safety of Medical Devices and Electronic Equipment
The SECULIFE ST, developed by Gossen Metrawatt, is a comprehensive measuring and testing instrument designed to meet the strict requirements of electrical safety verification for medical devices, household appliances, laboratory equipment, and IT systems. This multifunctional instrument is suited for use in hospitals, maintenance services, industrial settings, and quality control environments. It adheres to major international safety standards such as DIN VDE 0701-0702, IEC 62353 (VDE 0751-1), DIN EN 60601, DIN EN 60950, DIN EN 61010, and DIN EN 60335, thus ensuring full compliance with European and international regulations.
The instrument supports testing after repair, initial commissioning, and routine periodic inspections. It covers a wide range of electrical safety measurements including protective conductor resistance, insulation resistance, leakage currents (residual, equivalent, patient, auxiliary), voltage testing (AC/DC), multimeter measurements (voltage, current, resistance, temperature), and load testing up to 16 A. These tests can be performed either automatically through preprogrammed sequences or manually using a menu-driven interface.
The SECULIFE ST enhances safety through automatic detection of incorrect mains connections and protection class (I or II). All testing is automatically disabled if a hazardous condition is detected. Mains polarity reversal is also handled internally. The backlit graphical LCD screen displays results, setup diagrams, instructions, and error messages clearly. Furthermore, the device supports optional expansion with the SECUTEST SI+ memory module, which enables test data storage, statistical analysis, report generation, and alphanumeric input.
The SECULIFE ST is internationally adaptable, configurable by country (plug type, interface language, applicable regulations). Sturdy and user-friendly, the SECULIFE ST is a must-have for ensuring electrical safety and compliance, protecting both users and patients while meeting the highest quality standards.
