Thermo Safe 2020 – A comprehensive protection solution for laboratories
Designed to meet the strict requirements of microbiological and biotechnological laboratories, the Thermo Safe 2020 safety cabinet is a Class II microbiological safety cabinet providing triple protection: for the user, the product being handled and the working environment. Compliant with European standard EN 12469:2000, it is suitable for biological safety level 1 to 3 applications. Its design is based on a dual airflow system: a clean downward airflow and an outward airflow, both filtered by HEPA H14 filters with 99.995% efficiency at 0.3 µm.
Its digital user interface displays critical parameters such as downward flow velocity, filter operating time and safety alarms. The motorised front window, controlled by a pilot switch, ensures a hermetic seal during UV disinfection phases, preventing accidental exposure to ultraviolet rays.
The interior of the hood features a modular stainless steel worktop and an integrated splashback. The work area is lit by two fluorescent tubes concealed under a light dome. To ensure optimal sterilisation, the hood can be equipped with integrated side UV lamps, allowing cross-irradiation of the entire surface without any shadow areas.
To enhance safety, a permanent air flow control system and audible/visual alarms ensure that the unit is operating correctly. The Safe 2020 can be connected to an external ventilation system and laboratory gas valves, and has internal electrical sockets for accessories. Its low noise level, less than 58 dB(A), and low temperature rise (< 2 °K) ensure optimal working comfort.
