Topolino – Miniature magnetic stirrer for demanding laboratories
The Topolino from IKA represents excellence in compact magnetic stirrers, specially designed for laboratories looking for a simple, robust and efficient tool for mixing small volumes of liquid. The Topolino can mix up to 250 ml of water (or liquid of equivalent density) with high precision, making it the preferred choice for routine protocols in biology, chemistry or pharmaceuticals.
Its 0.8 W brushless motor ensures durability, energy efficiency and low maintenance. Unlike traditional brush motors, it requires no specific maintenance and guarantees quiet operation, a major advantage in shared work environments where noise can quickly become a nuisance. In addition, its stirring speed is continuously adjustable from 500 to 1800 rpm, allowing the mixing power to be precisely adapted to the properties of the liquid used, whether viscous, aqueous or slightly heterogeneous.
The stirring plate, made of synthetic polypropylene (PP), is not only resistant to common chemicals but also easy to clean, promoting hygienic working conditions that comply with laboratory standards. It has a diameter of 80 mm, sufficient to accommodate standard beakers while ensuring direct and effective contact with the magnetic stirrer. The Topolino has remarkable magnetic adhesion, ensuring that the stirring bar remains securely in place even at maximum speed, thus avoiding interruptions due to detachment.
In terms of safety and compatibility, the device operates with a wide range of voltages (100 to 240 V) and frequencies (50/60 Hz), making it usable in most countries without an additional adapter. It is protected to IP21 standard against solid objects larger than 12 mm and vertical water drops, making it a reliable piece of equipment in controlled environments.
The Topolino is compact, measuring only 95 x 37 x 115 mm and weighing less than 500 grams. This makes it easy to transport, store and integrate into modular installations. It supports a maximum load of 0.5 kg and accepts stirring bars up to 30 mm in length.
