The EIDON TrueColor confocal retinograph from CenterVue is a state-of-the-art medical device designed for high-definition retinal imaging without pupil dilation, thanks to cutting-edge confocal technology. Unlike traditional retinal cameras, EIDON uses a white LED light source and a confocal scanning principle to produce images that are accurate, high-contrast and true to the natural colours of the retina. This innovative technology reduces the effects of reflected light from deep layers and improves detail detection even in the presence of media opacities.
Its user interface is based on an intuitive and easy-to-use 10.1-inch colour touchscreen tablet. Automatic mode detects, aligns, focuses and captures images without complex intervention, while manual mode allows users to precisely control acquisition. This makes it possible to take centred, wide-field or stereoscopic images. A mosaic function allows multiple fields to be combined to generate an extended view of the retina.
The system automatically compensates for spherical errors ranging from -12 to +15 diopters and works with pupils as small as 2.5 mm. Data is stored on an internal 256 GB SSD, and export options (USB, DICOM, local network) are available. The operator can also access images remotely via the Remote Viewer software.
The device also features a digital joystick for manual control of focus and optical positioning.
