Xylem Turb® 430 T – A high-performance turbidity meter for reproducible results
The Xylem Turb® 430 T is a portable turbidimeter designed to meet the accuracy requirements of laboratory methods, while being perfectly suited to the constraints of field work. Using a tungsten beam light source and compliant with US EPA methods, it offers a measurement range from 0.02 to 1100 NTU using the nephelometric method. This instrument is capable of providing reliable measurements in a variety of environments, ranging from surface water and reservoir quality monitoring to industrial and food processing control, as well as applications in oenology and biotechnology. The design of this device ensures consistent and reproducible results, regardless of where it is used.
Robust and ergonomic design for intensive use
Designed to withstand the most demanding conditions, the Turb® 430 T features an IP67-certified waterproof housing that protects the device from splashes, temporary immersion and dust particles. The ergonomics have been designed for easy and safe handling: the device fits comfortably in the hand and its intuitive controls allow measurements to be started at the touch of a button. Data can be stored with a unique identifier (ID) for accurate tracking and then transferred to a PC via an RS232 connection, using LSdata software for GLP-compliant processing and management.
In its instrument-only version, the Turb® 430 T includes a set of AMCO Clear® KalKit calibration standards covering values from 0.02 to 10 to 1000 NTU, ensuring optimal accuracy thanks to their high stability and non-toxicity. These standards faithfully reproduce the optical characteristics of real samples, while being easy to handle and dispose of. Five empty vials allow sample preparation, four Mignon (AA) batteries provide extended battery life, and optical wipes keep the measuring cells clean and transparent.
A scalable solution with optional laboratory station
For users who want to combine mobility with the convenience of a fixed workstation, the Turb® 430 T can be supplemented with the optional LabStation (#251 301). This station allows the device to be fixed in place for laboratory use, while benefiting from integrated PC software for advanced data management. It is equipped with a rechargeable battery, offering an alternative power supply to batteries and extending the instrument's autonomy during intensive use. This modularity allows easy switching between mobile and laboratory use, thus optimising the investment.
