TurboVap® LV: An efficient solution for high-throughput solvent evaporation
The TurboVap® LV from Biotage is a solvent evaporation system designed to meet the evolving needs of modern analytical laboratories. Developed from the solid foundations of the historic TurboVap series, this LV model benefits from a host of user-driven enhancements to facilitate daily operations while ensuring accuracy, reproducibility and safety. It is primarily intended for laboratories specialising in clinical chemistry, forensics, pharmaceuticals and food safety, particularly for the concentration of solvents after extraction on SPE cartridges.
One of the main advantages of the TurboVap® LV is its patented gas vortex shearing technology. This approach ensures uniform gas flow distribution over each sample, accelerating the evaporation process while preventing splashing or sample loss. The user can independently control the gas flow on each row, allowing for optimal adjustment according to the specific characteristics of the samples being processed.
The system can accommodate up to 48 samples simultaneously in tubes or vials ranging from 1.5 to 60 mL thanks to an interchangeable rack system. Three types of racks are available to accommodate a wide variety of formats: 48 positions for tubes from 10 to 16 mm, 48 positions for tubes from 10 to 20 mm and 24 positions for wider tubes from 21 to 32 mm. This modular design makes the TurboVap® LV extremely versatile and capable of adapting to most solvent concentration applications.
The TurboVap® LV incorporates ergonomic features such as an intuitive 7-inch touchscreen display for easy configuration, saving and execution of evaporation methods. The glass heating vessel is illuminated for maximum visibility, and the entire system has a compact design (400 x 400 x 390 mm) suitable for use on a bench or under a fume hood. An easily accessible drain port allows for quick and easy maintenance of the heating bath.
The TurboVap® LV complies with international safety standards (CE marking, CB and NRTL certifications) and is designed to operate with a universal power supply (100–240 V, 50/60 Hz). The system can therefore be easily integrated into all types of laboratories, with minimal installation and maintenance requirements.
