The US-4000 ultrasound machine facilitates the conduct of biometric analyses of the eye, encompassing the measurement of axial length, utilizing its ultrasound technology in A-mode, along with capturing 2D images of the eye in B-mode.

Description

US-4000: Ultrasound Compact Eye Imaging Device with Tiltable Touchscreen – Precision Ultrasonic Biometry for the Eye Globe

The US-4000, a compact ultrasound machine with a tiltable touchscreen, operates independently and is specifically designed for ultrasonic biometry and imaging of the eye. Using a high-frequency ultrasound beam reflected by the different structures of the eye, it measures the biometric lengths of the eye globe, including axial length, anterior chamber depth, lens thickness, and vitreous depth. It also reconstructs 2D images for fundus analysis, particularly useful in cases such as opacities, eye inflammations, hemorrhages, or tumors, where other imaging devices may be limited.

After use, the results can be printed directly using the integrated thermal printer, saved in the internal memory of the device, or exported to external devices such as USB drives or computers.

In echo-A mode, the US-4000 automatically calculates the power of intraocular lenses (IOL) based on the measured biometric lengths, using different integrated formulas. To facilitate measurements through dense cataracts, the "Dense Cataract" function and "Gate" detection windows enhance the detected signal.

In echo-B mode, the device produces images through a scanning system of 400 lines over a 60° field, providing a grayscale retinal section with adjustable contrast. This representation allows for a detailed analysis of the fundus and the detection of significant anomalies in the eye globe.
