The US-500, a compact ultrasound equipped with a tiltable touchscreen, operates autonomously and is specifically designed for ultrasonic biometry. Leveraging a high-frequency ultrasound beam, the US-500 measures various biometric lengths of the eye, including axial length, anterior chamber depth, lens thickness, and vitreous depth. Its utility is evident in scenarios such as media opacities, ocular inflammations, hemorrhages, or tumors, where conventional optical biometers demonstrate limitations.

Upon completion of the examination, results can be instantly printed with the integrated thermal printer, stored in the device's internal memory, or exported to external devices such as USB drives or computers. The obtained biometric lengths play a crucial role in the automated calculation of intraocular lens (IOL's) power by the US-500, utilizing various formulas integrated into the device. To facilitate measurements through dense cataracts, the device offers the "Dense Cataract" function and "Gate" detection windows that enhance the detected signal.
