The Versana Active™ is a high-performance portable ultrasound system developed by GE Healthcare for healthcare professionals who need to combine clinical precision, mobility, and accessibility in their daily work. Drawing on GE’s technological expertise, it brings the imaging quality of high-end console systems into a compact, lightweight form. Ideal for common exams in general practice, it is suited for use in clinics, at the bedside, in urban or rural settings, and even in mobile medical units.
Weighing only 5 kg and just 5.7 cm thick, it’s easy to carry with its integrated handle. A dedicated cart is also available for stationary use. With fast boot-up and instant standby modes, the system enables smooth patient workflows. Versana Active delivers exceptional image quality with advanced technologies such as B-Flow™, CrossXBeam™, and SRI-HD, improving visualization of blood flow, anatomical contours, and deep structures. The Whizz dynamic imaging feature automatically optimizes image settings in real time—even when moving from one organ or region to another.
Compatible with a wide range of probes (convex, linear, endocavitary, cardiac, etc.), Versana Active supports a variety of clinical areas including abdominal, OB/GYN, vascular, musculoskeletal, urology, and cardiac imaging. It features numerous automated tools that simplify exams: Auto-IMT for intima-media thickness measurement, Auto Bladder for automatic bladder volume calculation, SonoBiometry for fetal measurements, thyroid and breast productivity tools, Scan Assistant for standardized exam protocols, and an image comparison tool for patient follow-up.
The system supports DICOM standards, offers cloud export (internet required), and allows creation of customized reports with voice comment options. It also features Scan Coach, a 3D animated guide with anatomical illustrations to help users find the correct scan plane. The built-in My Trainer function supports users in setup, care, and daily operation of the system.
