The Sonomed VuPad - Combining A-scan, B-scan, UBM, and Pachymetry
This device enables precise and easy measurement of axial length, anterior chamber depth, lens thickness, or intraocular pressure. The VuPad's A-scan offers various modes, including immersion or direct contact, and allows for manual or automatic capture in different clinical scenarios. It automatically calculates axial length, anterior chamber depth, lens and vitreous thickness, with mean and standard deviation of axial length provided for up to 10 scans per exam. Additionally, it supports standard and post-refractive IOL power calculation formulas.
The VuPad's B-scan provides exceptional image quality with Enhanced Focus Rendering technology. You can choose between 12 and 20 MHz frequency transducers for posterior imaging. It captures continuous videos of 50 images at up to 20 frames per second and can store an unlimited number of images and up to 12 video clips in each exam.
The UBM (ultrasound biomicroscopy) of the VuPad offers similar image quality with Enhanced Focus Rendering™ technology. It is compatible with 35 and 50 MHz frequency transducers for high-resolution exams. Like the B-scan, it can capture videos of 50 images at up to 20 frames per second and store an unlimited number of images and video clips in each exam. Additionally, it is compatible with the ClearScan® UBM capture kit for direct contact exams.
The VuPad's Pachymetry offers precise and automatic measurements of corneal thickness. It features an auto-calibration and probe test system, as well as automatic intraocular pressure correction based on central corneal thickness. It supports single-point or multi-point measurements, with single or multiple readings at each point, suitable for central and peripheral measurements.
Its ultra-high-resolution touchscreen technology allows for sharp image and high-quality video capture that can be examined frame by frame.
The VuPad also features advanced measurement and annotation tools to simplify your work. It supports sulcus to sulcus size measurement and offers built-in algorithms to determine correct ICL implant sizes. Additionally, it provides an angle analysis tool for monitoring anterior chamber angle status.
User-friendliness is at the core of the VuPad with an intuitive graphical interface and multi-touch screen for easy access to essential functions. You can also enjoy smartphone-inspired features such as pinch zoom. The VuPad includes preset scanning settings to automatically optimize image quality based on the area of interest.
