Memmert UN160plus – Universal oven for precise temperature control
The Memmert UN160plus is a universal oven that stands out for its careful design and reliable performance in temperature control for scientific, industrial and quality control applications. Designed for demanding laboratories, it meets the needs of drying, heating, ageing, burn-in and hardening of materials. Thanks to its high-precision temperature control technology and robust stainless steel construction, this appliance guarantees a stable, homogeneous and easily reproducible thermal environment, which is essential for successful testing and analysis.
Its temperature range extends from +20°C to +300°C, with an adjustment accuracy of 0.1°C up to 99.9°C and 0.5°C from 100°C onwards. Two Pt100 DIN Class A probes, arranged in a 4-wire circuit, ensure measurement monitoring and redundancy for reliable results. This system also provides automatic backup in the event of a sensor failure, ensuring process continuity without compromising test quality.
The ControlCOCKPIT TwinDISPLAY control interface, equipped with two high-definition colour TFT screens, offers simple and intuitive programming. The multifunction PID microprocessor adapts the heating power to maintain optimal thermal conditions. The HeatBALANCE function adjusts the heat distribution between the upper and lower circuits, while the SetpointWAIT function ensures that process timing only starts once the target temperature has been reached, thus ensuring maximum accuracy in test sequences.
Ventilation is based on a natural convection system, promoting uniform air flow without disturbing sensitive samples. An electronic air flap allows the supply of preheated fresh air to be adjusted, optimising humidity control and thermal stability. The chamber also has a ventilation outlet with a restriction flap to better regulate the internal atmosphere.
In terms of safety, the UN160plus incorporates a mechanical temperature limiter, overheating monitoring systems and visual and audible alarms. The AutoSAFETY system automatically monitors the setpoint with a defined tolerance, stopping the heating if it is exceeded. An integrated self-diagnostic system quickly identifies any faults, reducing the risk of unplanned test interruptions.
The internal chamber, with a volume of 161 litres, is made entirely of electro-polished stainless steel with pressed reinforcements to ensure robustness and durability. Heating is distributed across all four sides to ensure optimum thermal uniformity. Maintenance is simplified by smooth, easy-to-clean surfaces. The UN160 plus can accommodate up to eight stainless steel shelves. The maximum load capacity is 210 kg for the entire chamber, with a maximum load of 20 kg per level.
The appliance is available in 230 V or 115 V versions, with an electrical power of approximately 3200 W or 1800 W respectively. Installation conditions require a minimum clearance to ensure adequate ventilation and prevent the equipment from overheating.
