Memmert UN55plus – Universal heating chamber for laboratories and industry
The Memmert UN55plus universal oven is a temperature control device designed to offer optimum performance in scientific, industrial and quality control applications. With a capacity of 53 litres, it meets the needs of many applications such as drying, heating, ageing, burn-in or hardening of materials. Its stainless steel design, which is robust, hygienic and easy to clean, guarantees exceptional durability and minimal maintenance.
The UN55plus's control accuracy is ensured by a digital PID controller with a high-definition dual colour display, integrated into the ControlCOCKPIT TwinDISPLAY interface. This allows the user to fine-tune essential parameters such as temperature, air flap position and programme times. The temperature range, between 20°C and 300°C, allows a wide variety of samples and materials to be processed. The appliance incorporates a redundant Pt100 sensor system that ensures reliable monitoring and automatic takeover in the event of a sensor failure.
The UN55plus has a HeatBALANCE function that balances the heat distribution between the top and bottom heating elements, optimising homogeneity in the chamber. In addition, the SetpointWAIT function ensures that the process time only starts once the target temperature has been reached, guaranteeing reproducible results. Three temperature values can be freely calibrated to suit the specific requirements of protocols.
Ventilation is based on a natural convection system, supplemented by a supply of preheated fresh air, electronically modulated via an adjustable flap. This configuration allows for controlled air exchange, limiting thermal disturbances while ensuring sufficient renewal for certain applications. Air can also be evacuated through a connection fitted with a restriction flap.
In terms of safety, the UN55plus incorporates several protection systems: a mechanical temperature limiter, an overheating control device and an AutoSAFETY mode that automatically adjusts the alarm thresholds. If these thresholds are exceeded, the unit triggers a visual and audible signal and interrupts the heating to protect the samples. A self-diagnostic system also allows operating faults to be identified quickly.
The AtmoCONTROL interface allows sequences to be programmed, managed and transferred via USB or Ethernet. Parameters and programmes are saved even in the event of a power failure, ensuring continuity of operation.
The 53-litre interior chamber is reinforced with deep-drawn panels and houses a large heating surface protected on all four sides. The appliance can accommodate up to four levels with a maximum total load of 80 kg, or 20 kg per level. The fully insulated stainless steel door, equipped with a two-point compression closure, ensures optimal thermal insulation.
The UN55plus operates at 230 V (2000 W) or 115 V (1700 W) depending on the configuration. It is designed for use in environments with an ambient temperature between +5 °C and +40 °C and up to an altitude of 2,000 m. Installation requires minimal space around the unit to ensure adequate ventilation.
