Clinitek Status – The compact, high-performance urine analyser for rapid diagnosis
The Clinitek Status urine analyser from Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics is the solution of choice for healthcare professionals seeking to optimise urine screening while ensuring accuracy, simplicity and efficiency. Specially designed to work with Siemens Multistix® test strips and certain cassette tests, this compact device meets the needs of general practices, primary care centres and low-volume testing facilities.
Thanks to its intuitive user interface, the Clinitek Status allows for smooth navigation between different test modes. Three modes are available: Quick Test mode for rapid testing without additional information entry, Full Test mode which includes patient and operator identification, and Custom mode which allows complete customisation of the screens and parameters displayed. The colour touchscreen guides the user step by step, significantly reducing handling errors.
The Clinitek Status does more than just read test strips: it also includes an operator traceability management function, allowing up to 20 IDs to be stored, which restricts use of the device to authorised professionals only. Each test can be associated with a specific operator, enhancing safety and quality control. Results are stored in the device, with a storage capacity of up to 200 patient tests and 50 quality control tests.
This system is also designed to integrate easily into quality assurance procedures. It offers QC (quality control) lock options, preventing patient tests from being performed until the required quality controls have been validated. In addition, reminders or time constraints can be programmed for the performance of controls, ensuring compliance with internal or regulatory standards.
Configuration flexibility is another major advantage of the Clinitek Status. Thanks to its USB and RS232 ports, the device can be connected to external peripherals (printer, keyboard, barcode reader) and a laboratory information system (LIS). This connectivity facilitates the integration of results into electronic medical records and enables efficient data centralisation. The addition of a barcode reader also allows for quick entry of patient or operator data, minimising the risk of manual errors.
The Clinitek Status stands out for its robustness, ease of maintenance and ability to operate on both mains and battery power, making it suitable for installation and use in mobile or poorly equipped environments. All of its features make it a reliable tool for the early diagnosis and monitoring of urinary disorders, in a practical format that is well suited to everyday clinical practice.
