UV-2401PC Spectrophotometer – Precision, reliability and performance for UV-Visible analysis
The Shimadzu UV-2401PC is a dual-beam UV-Visible spectrophotometer designed to deliver high-level analytical performance in research, quality control and educational environments. With optical engineering, precision signal processing electronics and powerful software, this instrument meets the most stringent spectroscopic requirements.
Equipped with a Czerny-Turner monochromator with a 1600 lines/mm blazed holographic grating, the UV-2401PC guarantees excellent spectral resolution and extremely low stray light (< 0.015% at 220 nm and 340 nm). This configuration allows fine peaks, such as the triplets of the benzene vapour spectrum around 250 nm, to be detected with remarkable clarity. The optical system is completely sealed by quartz windows to prevent contamination by dust, ensuring long-term stability.
The spectrophotometer covers a spectral range from 190 to 1100 nm, with automatic switching between deuterium (D2) and halogen (WI) lamps, depending on the selected wavelength. Automatic lamp alignment guarantees maximum intensity at each start-up, without manual intervention. The detector used is an R-928 photomultiplier, recognised for its high sensitivity and wide dynamic range.
The UVPC software, supplied with the instrument, allows spectral, kinetic, quantitative and photometric measurements to be carried out with great flexibility. It includes functions such as smoothing, derivatives up to the 4th order, spectrum calculations, Kubelka-Munk conversion, area under curve calculations, kinetic monitoring, and much more. The Windows-based graphical interface facilitates parameter configuration, data acquisition and processing.
The UV-2401PC is also designed for easy maintenance: quick lamp replacement, easy cleaning of optical windows, direct access to fuses, and integrated diagnostic procedures. It complies with CE standards for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and electrical safety (low voltage).
Thanks to its versatility, robustness and accuracy, the UV-2401PC is the ideal tool for analytical chemistry, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, environmental and food laboratories.
