Engström Pro: A Critical Care Ventilator Designed for Clinical Excellence
The Engström Pro is an intensive care ventilator designed to meet the needs of patients in critical care and intermediate care units. Based on the Engström Carestation platform, it offers a wide range of ventilation modes, including Volume Controlled Ventilation (VCV), Pressure Controlled Ventilation (PCV), and modes such as BiLevel with Volume Guarantee (BiLevel-VG) and Non-Invasive Ventilation (NIV). This flexibility allows for optimal adaptation to various patient profiles and care protocols.
Its intuitive user interface facilitates the setup of ventilation modes and real-time adjustment of parameters. The 12-inch color touchscreen provides clear visualization of respiratory data, with the ability to display multiple monitoring curves simultaneously. The system integrates pulmonary mechanics monitoring and a spirometry system directly measured at the ventilator, ensuring precise control of ventilation.
One of the strengths of the Engström Pro is its optimized maintenance cost management. It is equipped with a paramagnetic oxygen sensor requiring no maintenance, as well as an expiratory valve and flow sensor that are easy to clean and autoclavable at 134°C. Only one annual preventive maintenance check is required, with no need to replace specific parts.
The device offers a wide range of ventilation parameters, including an adjustable tidal volume from 20 to 2000 mL, a maximum inspiratory flow rate of 200 L/min, and an adjustable fraction of inspired oxygen from 21 to 100%. Its compatibility with an integrated nebulizer system (Aerogen Aeroneb) allows for the effective administration of inhaled treatments.
In terms of safety, the Engström Pro features a customizable alarm system with limit indicators to prevent any malfunction. It ensures seamless connection with central stations, web viewers, and wireless connections for optimal integration into modern hospital infrastructures. Its automatic patient detection and leak compensation system in non-invasive ventilation improve comfort and care efficiency.
This ventilator is also designed for high mobility, with a height-adjustable and tiltable display up to 160°, allowing optimal visualization of ventilation parameters in all care configurations. Its 120-minute battery life ensures continuity of care even in the event of a power interruption.
