Designed to be user-friendly with adjustable pressure levels, oxygen concentration, and breath rate, this system helps improve spontaneous breathing in infants. It utilizes the Infant Flow LP generator for accurate and efficient airflow, ensuring stability and comfort.

Description

Infant Flow™ SiPAP: Non-Invasive Respiratory Support for Infants

The Infant Flow™ SiPAP is an system designed to provide non-invasive respiratory support for neonates, specifically for premature and full-term infants experiencing respiratory distress. This system offers both Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) and BiPhasic modes, which are crucial for improving lung function and facilitating spontaneous breathing in newborns. The SiPAP system is renowned for its versatility and efficiency in treating various neonatal respiratory conditions, such as apnea of prematurity, transient tachypnea of the newborn, mild meconium aspiration, and as post-extubation support.

CPAP mode delivers constant and stable positive pressure to the infant’s airways. This is particularly effective for helping maintain the functional residual capacity (FRC) of the lungs, which assists in correcting hypoxemia. This mode is widely utilized in neonates with moderate respiratory distress to keep the airways open, which enhances lung oxygenation and overall respiratory stability. On the other hand, the BiPhasic mode operates by alternating between high and low levels of CPAP pressure on a timed basis. This fluctuation of pressure reduces the work of breathing (WOB) in infants. A small incremental pressure increase during each breath creates a “sigh” effect, which serves to expand lung capacity and improve oxygenation in the neonate's lungs.

The Infant Flow™ SiPAP is specifically designed with user-friendly controls and an intuitive interface, making it easy to set up and operate. Healthcare professionals can tailor the respiratory support to meet the specific needs of each infant, adjusting pressure levels, oxygen concentration, and breath rate. The oxygen concentration can be finely tuned between 21% and 100%, ensuring that the infant receives the appropriate level of oxygen based on their condition.

The system includes active alarms that alert healthcare providers to any potential issues, such as high or low airway pressure, changes in oxygen concentration, low battery, or device malfunctions. These alarms are vital for ensuring that any deviations in the infant’s respiratory status are promptly addressed. The device’s alarms can monitor airway pressures, oxygen levels, and other key indicators. The alarm system has been designed with the needs of neonatal healthcare in mind, ensuring that it is responsive and reliable.

The Infant Flow™ SiPAP is lightweight and portable, making it ideal for use in a variety of settings, from neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) to smaller hospitals and clinics. Despite its portability, the system is robust and highly reliable, providing continuous respiratory support for infants in need.

This system also allows healthcare providers to carefully monitor vital signs and parameters, such as oxygen saturation (SpO2), heart rate, respiratory rate, airway pressures, and the infant’s overall condition. This level of monitoring helps clinicians to make real-time adjustments to the respiratory support provided, ensuring that the infant receives optimal care at all times. Whether used as part of early intervention for respiratory distress or for post-extubation care, the Infant Flow™ SiPAP offers the flexibility and precision needed to help infants recover and thrive.
