The PowerSuite 100 Watt from the VersaPulse® range by Lumenis is a Class IV holmium surgical laser designed to meet the highest demands for performance, versatility and safety in many medical specialities. Used worldwide by urologists and surgeons, this system offers an effective solution for a variety of applications such as the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), lithotripsy, strictures, tumours and many other procedures in fields such as gastroenterology, pulmonology, gynaecology, orthopaedics and ENT.
With a maximum power of 100 watts, pulse energy of up to 3.5 joules, and a repetition rate of up to 50 Hz, this laser is capable of delivering dense, controlled energy, ensuring extremely precise tissue vaporisation or ablation while minimising collateral damage. Its wavelength of 2.1 µm, specific to holmium lasers, allows excellent absorption by water in tissue, making it particularly effective for working on soft tissue and for fragmenting stones.
One of the flagship applications of the PowerSuite 100W is holmium laser enucleation of the prostate (HoLEP), recommended by the American Urological Association (AUA) for the treatment of BPH. This procedure, which has been extensively documented in more than 15 years of clinical studies, offers long-lasting results, a very low reoperation rate and high efficacy regardless of prostate size. Compared to conventional transurethral resection (TURP), HoLEP offers significantly reduced blood loss, improved post-operative comfort and a shorter hospital stay.
The PowerSuite 100W is also optimised for lithotripsy using Stone-Dusting™, a technique that fragments urinary stones into fine particles, reducing the need for mechanical basket extraction and the risks associated with the use of ureteral access sheaths. Low pulse energy and high frequencies minimise the retropropulsion effects of fragments, improving visibility and accuracy during the procedure.
In addition to its clinical performance, this system stands out for its robustness, intuitive interface and compatibility with a wide range of reusable and single-use laser fibres , with or without smart identification technology (SIS). Thanks to an integrated heat exchanger cooling system, the laser can operate continuously even during long procedures.
