Via2-Cassette System: Accurate and Safe Cell Counting and Viability Determination
ChemoMetec's Via2-Cassette™ is a disposable cassette specially developed for use with the NucleoCounter® system . It enables reliable quantification of total cell concentration and percentage of non-viable cells from a biological sample. This all-in-one medical device combines sample aspiration and automated cell staining, eliminating the need for manual handling of potentially hazardous reagents.
The cassette is equipped with a piston and a microchannel preloaded with dye crystals (Acridine Orange and DAPI) that dissolve on contact with the sample, ensuring that both viable and non-viable cells are stained. Once loaded, the cassette is inserted into the NucleoCounter® instrument, which activates the piston to mix the sample, fill the measurement chamber and capture a fluorescence image.
The closed cassette system protects the user from exposure to potentially hazardous reagents or biological substances, enhancing process safety. The Via2-Cassette™ features an instrument-readable dot code, ensuring recognition of the exact volume of the counting chamber and ensuring optimal accuracy in concentration calculations.
Used primarily for research purposes, the Via2 cassette is indispensable for laboratories requiring reproducible and reliable results. It retains its properties for 15 months in its sealed original packaging and must be used within two weeks of opening. This product must be handled with gloves and appropriate protective equipment in accordance with local biological safety standards.
