High-sensitivity tandem mass spectrometer for LC-MS/MS applications
The Waters Xevo TQ-S is a benchtop quadrupole tandem mass spectrometer designed to meet the demands of the most complex quantitative analyses in liquid chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). Thanks to its StepWave™ technology, it offers unrivalled ion transfer efficiency, enabling increased sensitivity while reducing interference from neutral contaminants. This off-axis design optimises ion transmission while protecting the mass analysers.
Technologies for enhanced data acquisition
The Xevo TQ-S integrates the T-Wave collision cell, compatible with ScanWave™ mode, which improves the quality of ion product spectra. It offers several acquisition modes, including MRM (Multiple Reaction Monitoring), SIR (Selected Ion Recording), constant neutral loss scan, precursor scan and RADAR™ mode, which allows simultaneous acquisition of targeted quantitative data and global visualisation of the components present. These features make the instrument ideal for complex analyses requiring high accuracy and fast performance.
IntelliStart™ technology automates system optimisation, mass calibration, MRM method development and performance monitoring, ensuring simplified operation and reproducible results, even for non-expert users.
Flexibility, performance and software compatibility
The Xevo TQ-S is compatible with a wide range of ionisation sources, including ESI, APCI, ESCi®, APPI, ASAP, nanoESI, APGC and ionKey™, giving it great flexibility to adapt to various sample types and matrices. It supports LC flow rates of up to 2 mL/min and allows for quick, tool-free source exchange.
On the software side, the system works with MassLynx® (version 4.1 or later) and includes the OpenLynx™ and TargetLynx™ XS application managers. It also offers automatic MRM acquisition window planning features, optimising the number of data points per chromatographic peak.
With a mass range of 2 to 2048 m/z, a scan speed of up to 10,000 Da/s and mass stability of ±0.05 Da over 24 hours, the Xevo TQ-S guarantees high-level analytical performance. Its ability to monitor up to 16,384 MRM channels in a single acquisition makes it a powerful tool for multi-component analyses.
