Biosan Laboratories is a specialized environmental microbiology laboratory founded in 1973 by Dr. Harold Rossmoore. Originally based in Ferndale, Michigan, the company expanded its capabilities in 1994 by moving to a larger facility in Warren, Michigan, which includes a dedicated manufacturing area for producing agar-based dipslides. These microbiological test kits are designed for on-site testing of industrial fluids and have become a key part of Biosan’s offering. In addition to manufacturing, Biosan provides certified laboratory services, including Legionella testing for potable and non-potable water, with accreditations from CDC ELITE and the New York State Department of Health (ELAP). The lab also conducts antimicrobial testing for industries such as textiles, plastics, coatings, and metalworking fluids, using recognized standards like ASTM, AATCC, JIS, and ISO. Consulting in custom antimicrobial testing protocols is also available.
