Masimo is a global medical company specializing in the development and manufacture of innovative, non-invasive patient monitoring technologies, medical devices and a wide range of sensors.

Founded in 1989 by Joe Kiani as a small private company starting out in a garage, Masimo was born of the conviction that the use of adaptive signal processing could solve the challenges of low perfusion and motion encountered in in vivo monitoring, particularly in the field of pulse oximetry, the measurement of oxygen saturation in arterial blood. Its solution, Masimo SET® pulse oximetry, has been validated in a comparative study of three pulse oximetry technologies, demonstrating the highest levels of sensitivity and specificity for identifying desaturation events, even under conditions of movement and low perfusion.
