The Datex-Ohmeda S/5 Light is a multi-parameter monitoring device designed to meet clinical needs in a variety of settings, such as operating theatres, intensive care units, emergency departments and intra-hospital transport. The S/5 Light supports a wide range of clinical measurements, including electrocardiogram (ECG), oxygen saturation (SpO₂), non-invasive (NIBP) and invasive (IBP) blood pressure, body temperature , respiratory rate via chest impedance, and carbon dioxide (CO₂) as an option via a main sensor.
This monitor is designed to provide an intuitive user experience with direct access keys to the most frequently used functions, such as manual blood pressure measurement or recorder activation. It offers automatic digital and graphical trends over 2, 4, 12 or 24-hour periods, enabling accurate monitoring of changes in the patient's condition. Alarms are fully customisable for each monitored parameter, ensuring rapid detection of clinical abnormalities.
The S/5 Light can be equipped with a three-channel thermal recorder, a backup battery for extended autonomy, a DataCard memory card for data archiving, and RS-232 communication ports for integration into a hospital network or connection to a local printer. It complies with international medical safety standards, including IEC 60601-1 and UL 2601-1, and is CE marked in accordance with Directive 93/42/EEC, making it a reliable and certified device for clinical use.
