Maquet, a self-styled multinational German company known as MAQUET, is headquartered in Rastatt and specializes in equipment for surgical settings, anesthesia systems, workstations for intensive care, and cardiovascular devices.

Operating in three primary divisions - Surgical Workplaces, Critical Care, and Cardiovascular - Maquet takes pride in its history dating back to 1838 when Johann Friedrich Fischer laid the foundation for the company in Heidelberg.

Over the years, Maquet has evolved into a global therapeutic medical company, providing products and services to Operating Rooms (OR), Emergency Rooms (ER), Intensive Care Units (ICU), and Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU) in acute care hospitals.

In 2008, our commitment to innovation was reinforced with the acquisition of Datascope Corporation, an American company ranked among the top three global leaders in intra-aortic balloon counterpulsation technology. Founded in 1964 and based in Montvale, New Jersey, Datascope specialized in developing cardiovascular products for interventional cardiology, cardiovascular and vascular surgery, and critical care.

As a subsidiary of the Swedish Getinge Group, Maquet played a key role in this strategic acquisition. In 2008, Datascope was acquired by Maquet, further strengthening our position in the medical devices industry. The merger with Datascope solidified our commitment to excellence and global expansion.

In 2015, Maquet played a crucial role in a special arrangement with Mindray, a Chinese medical device manufacturer. Despite Mindray retaining the rights to the Datascope brand, Maquet, as the primary owner and major player in the acquisition of other products and services from Datascope, secured exclusive rights to redirect web traffic, content, and links to the former Datascope products and services, now owned by Maquet.
