The US-500P is a compact ultrasound device with a tiltable touchscreen, operating autonomously and specifically designed for ultrasonic biometry. Utilizing a high-frequency ultrasound beam, the US-500P measures various biometric lengths of the eyeball, such as axial length, anterior chamber depth, lens thickness, and vitreous depth. It proves valuable in situations like media opacities, ocular inflammations, hemorrhages, or tumors, where conventional optical biometers are limited.

Following the examination, results can be directly printed using the integrated thermal printer, stored in the device's internal memory, or exported to external devices such as USB drives or computers. The obtained biometric lengths are crucial for the automatic calculation of intraocular lens (IOL's) power by the US-500P, utilizing different formulas integrated into the device. To facilitate measurements through dense cataracts, the device offers the "Dense Cataract" function and "Gate" detection windows, enhancing the detected signal.

As an optional feature on the US-500P model, pachymetry becomes available with the addition of a dedicated probe designed for direct application to the cornea. Measuring corneal thickness is particularly crucial for surgeries affecting this area, also allowing correction of intraocular pressure measurements through a corrective factor. Thus, the US-500P offers increased versatility by providing essential information for precise diagnostics and optimal patient care.
